“It was Trevor’s ( Lucas ) idea to do a rock and roll record featuring the folk rock community. This seemed a redundant exercise from the outset and I voiced concerns, but there was no enthusiasm – everyone else was on board, and I didn’t want to be left out. The results of our labours became the album “Rock On”. There was nothing new to be found in the material or the interpretations, for the most part. Sandy ( Denny ) sang beautifully, as did Linda ( Thompson ), and their performances were the highlights for me. Their duet on “When Will I Be Loved” was the outstanding track.”
